Life Lessons...

I found this on my friend Nikki's blog and wanted to share it here....

Written By Regina Brett, 53 years old, of  The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio.

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written.

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. 4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. 8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it. 9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check. 10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. 12. It's OK to let your children see you cry. 13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it. 15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks. 16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind. 17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. 18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger. 19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else. 20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer. 21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special. 22. Over prepare, then go with the flow. 23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple. 24. The most important sex organ is the brain. 25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. 26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?' 27. Always choose life. 28. Forgive everyone everything. 29. What other people think of you is none of your business. 30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time. 31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. 32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does. 33. Believe in miracles. 34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do. 35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now. 36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young. 37. Your children get only one childhood. 38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved. 39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere. 40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back. 41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. 42. The best is yet to come. 43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. 44. Yield. 45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Habitat for Humanity...

I had the pleasure of attending a ground breaking ceremony yesterday morning for Habitat for Humanity...I was photographing the event for Venice Magazine...which I work for.  I brought Weston along...one so he can understand the importance of community service and two because Martin Grammatic was going there.  He use to be the kicker for the Tampa Bucs and he is a soccer player.  Martin and his family own the company that are donating the homes for this project. Weston got him to sign his soccer ball take a photo.  It was a good morning....nice way to start you day.

Rain, Rain go away....it is Graduation Day....

Today is Chelsea's big day....She is graduation from High School @ 8PM  tonight...that is if it stops raining by then....if not she will be graduation at   8 AM  tomorrow moring....

I remember taking her to the first day of pre-school and as I was leaving she looked at me like to say  "Where are you going...you are suppose to stay her with me". She never cried and has always loved school.....I wonder if I will ge that same look the day I leave her at college.

I am so excited but also a bit sad. It is bitter sweet.  She will go off to college in the fall and I will miss her dearly. But the funny part is that is exactly what I want her to do. I so happy for her to start this next Chapter of her life...

I just wanted to share this with you....for all of you that have little ones at home or children that are only a few years away from this milestone.....take in every moment and cherish this short time you have with your children...don't blink or it will be over....

Congratulation Chelsea.....we are all so very proud of you...

Done....

Today is Chelsea's last day of school....I have such mixed emotions as I watch my oldest daughter Graduate from High School....She is the most amazing person and we are so proud of her.  She will be off to Arizona State in the Fall to start the next Chapter of her life. Although I will miss here dearly I am so excited for her to have this life experience.

All the years of watching her grow into the beautiful, smart and talented young lady have gone by so fast and I treasure each and every second.  I can't help but wish my Dad had been here to see what a wonderful granddaughter he has.  He would be so proud.  Congratulation Chelsea....Be all you can be....We love you...

so excited....

First because of this....

CoverMAYseniorsPROOF This is my photo on the cover of the magazine. This is Tori's soccer coach and his wife.   Idid several photos for the magazine this month...including one that Tori was in with a few other Venice High Students.  If you live locally I can tell you where you can purchase the magazine.  I am so excited to be apart of this magazine and joining in from the begining as it grows and becomes more successful....

and the next thing that I am so excited about is this seasons winner of American Idol....."Kris Allen"...I jus love him....I thought he was adorable and had a great vocals, his own style and the boy-next-door image,  can't wait to hear more from him.....I will say with all the hype I thought for sure it was going to be Adam....but isn't he just so cute...and what a humble and sweet guy....
